Pedal yourself to fitness with #OnTheMove programme

As the starting gate slams down, the aspiring racers lunge at full speed toward the first obstacle, performing a medley of jumps, backsides and deep turns along the track. This is the sense of thrill that participants in the #OnTheMove – winter programme BMX training sessions experience every Saturday at the BMX Track and Cycling Complex in Pembroke.
With over 30 participants attending the Kellogg’s-sponsored BMX programme, #OnTheMove BMX Head Coach Karl Naja explained that two lessons are held every Saturday, with the first session aimed for beginners and the next dedicated to advanced participants.
“The training sessions are designed to help the young participants get a solid foundation in cycling. These include skills such as jumping, handling, control, deep turns and even basic tricks. Once these basics are covered, we encourage the participant to explore and create his own style with innovative tricks and acrobatics,” Mr Naja explained.
The #OnTheMove – winter programme is organised by SportMalta and sponsored by Kellogg’s, the world’s leading producer of breakfast cereal. The #OnTheMove programme offers training in various sports complexes and localities giving participants the opportunity to choose their favourite sport and place of training.
Kellogg’s is sponsoring the #OnTheMove – winter programme for the 17th consecutive year as part of its commitment to promote physical activities and to highlight the importance of a balanced diet among the Maltese community.
