Emirates and Nadine Kanso create “Bil Arabi for Emirates” Collection

Emirates has announced a collaboration on an exclusive product line with renowned Dubai-based designer Nadine Kanso. The “Bil Arabi for Emirates” Collection uses Arabic calligraphy as a focal point in its design to celebrate the UAE’s upcoming Flag Day and National Day festivities on 3rd November and 2nd December. Bil Arabi literally translates to “in Arabic”. Watch Nadine introduce the “Bil Arabi for Emirates” Collection in this video.

The collection consists of a porcelain mug, a decorative plate, a pouch, a notepad and stylish t-shirts for both men and women. All items in the collection are adorned with the word “El Emarat”, which means “The Emirates”, in gold, stylised Arabic writing. The calligraphy based design takes influence from a contemporary interpretation of Arabic letters, and also takes inspiration from “calligraffiti” designs emerging across the Gulf and Middle East.
“My brand prides itself on paying tribute to Arabic heritage. A huge place I draw inspiration from is the Arabic lettering itself. The curves and stokes of the letter are so graceful and the gold lettering really enhances that beauty,” said Nadine Kanso.
The “Bil Arabi for Emirates” Collection is available at Emirates Official Stores across Dubai as well as on online at http://www.emirates.com/english/
