The best Maltese Facebook page according to The Malta Social Media Awards 2014, is Gozo Weather Page, administered by a Gozitan youth from Għarb, Andrea Muscat. This page gives on daily basis information about weather forecast for the Maltese islands. Gozo Weather Page was the second most voted page from the general public, but with the votes of the expert juries in this sector boosted it to the first place, because the juries votes had 30% weight on the final decision. Along this awards, that started on 12th October, 2014, more than 14,000 Facebook users voted for the finalist pages.

The runner up awarded to the fan page of the international footballer, Di Maria, as it is administered by a Maltese Facebook user, infact it achieved the highest number of votes from the general public, most of them from foreign users of this page which gives essential information about the football
technique of this Manchester United football star. In third place, placed, Filmed in Malta, which gives good promotion for Malta by featuring films and movies filmed in Malta. Filmed in Malta also won the category for the Best Facebook Page of a Maltese NGO and the Best Page which promote the Maltese identity and culture.
The winners of the other categories were Gozo Weather Page as Best Page that gives Information, Di Maria – Man Utd, as Best Sports Page, Gozo Farmhouses Rentals as Best Commercial Page, Replay (Net Television) as Best Television/Radio Station Page and the page By The Sea – 2015 – Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie, as Best Entertainment Page.

The Malta Social Media Awards will continue along this year, but with a new innovation, to award the Best Video on YouTube, Vimeo and social media website.
