As employees across Malta discussed the greatest Christmas parties to go to this year, staff at the HSBC UK Contact Centre Malta (HBEU) had the best of the season’s celebrations being brought to them – in plenty of avatars.

With a definite focus on creating a palpable spirit of joy and sharing, the events featured a shopping extravaganza, fun raffles, a cake competition, outings for children, volunteering for adults, mulled wine and mince pies on Christmas Eve, and more.

Meanwhile, the entire facility has been draped with Christmas sparkle as overhanging aisle boards, pillar posters, window signs, and lighted trees adorn the halls and alleyways. 

“Employee wellbeing is our highest priority and we wanted to use the occasion to create an overall experience where colleagues can share their joy but also strengthen their sense of community,” said HBEU People Experience Manager Richard Powell.

Based in Swatar and employing more than 400 staff members trained to assist UK account-holding customers, the Contact Centre is well known in Malta for its positive, informal, and highly sociable atmosphere thanks to an emphasis on work-life balance.
