The wait is finally over for 12th Ode. Their long awaited debut album is finally ready and set for launch on the 16th October at Ir Razzet l’Ahmar in Mosta L/o Ta’Qali.

The band’s journey started off 5 years ago, as many bands do, 12th Ode started off as a cover band, playing many Classic Rock hits. They slowly started shifting focus onto writing original songs and at the same time this led to the band evolving their sound into a heavier one. Consequently this put 12th Ode amongst the local metal fans’ list of bands to watch! Even though their sound is mainly influenced by the NWOBHN sounds of the 80’s the band was being invited to festivals such as the XMA (extreme metal festival) and also to the MDM (Malta Doom Metal Festival)They are on the MDM line up for this year’s edition too.

The awakening will be played in its entirety on Friday and it will feature four songs which will be premiered for this occasion.These new songs reflect a slightly diverse direction regarding the style of the band. The NWOBHM influences remain as the main factor; however slight shades of Doom come to light in 12th Ode’s latest songs.

12th Ode is; Darryl Portelli & Jeremy Xuereb on guitars, Henry Portelli on bass, Laurence ‘wenzu’ Baldacchino drums and Daryl Ebejer on vocals.

The female fronted, Power Metal outfit Blind Saviour are special guests on the night. 

Doors open at 21.00hrs.
Parking at Razzet l’Ahmar is no problem at all.
Entrance fee 8 Euro
